Most professional chimney sweeps yet come across!
Why? This husband & wife team are knowledgeable, friendly & I believe, go further to ensure no mess or dust is allowed to escape or be left behind.
Ours is an unusual ‘Jack & Jill’ coal/ wood burner, with doors on both sides, the lounge and the kitchen, yet they came with all relevant gear including magnets to hold dust sheets in place on the fireplace.
Not being the easiest chimney to clean, for this they used a flail system on poles connected to a powerful drill, to ensure any tar build up was removed. They even cleaned the glass fronts of the fireplace.
The positioning of a CO2 alarm was suggested too low, as the gas rises hence the alarm should be positioned 6” below the ceiling, to give maximum warning & early action. Obvious once we realised.
They concluded by lighting a smoke test for any smoke leakage. Not seen used before.
Have asked they diarise return visits in future years. What price peace of mind?

This is the second year we have called in Richard and his wife Siobhan to clean our wood burner. They arrived bang on time, cleaned our burner professionally with no mess at all, tested the carbon monoxide alarm, advised on usage and additional products that we could buy to enhance the efficiency of the burner. Would highly recommend this team as they are knowledgable, reliable and provide an excellent value for money service.
